Preparation: Prior to applying the stain, sand the wooden substrate using progressively finer sandpaper, starting with medium (120 grit) and moving to a medium/fine grade (180-220 grit). Sand in the direction of the wood grain, ensuring the removal of any blemishes and glue residue. It’s important to remove all sanding dust and test the chosen Fiddes Wood Dye on a similar substrate to verify the desired color and shade.

Application: Use a clean, lint-free cotton cloth or sponge to apply the stain in the direction of the wood grain. Remove any excess stain immediately with a separate, clean absorbent cloth, following the grain pattern. Apply even pressure when wiping to achieve a uniform color across the entire surface. Allow the stain to dry without sanding between coats. Additional coats can be applied to deepen the color or shade as desired.

Remember to stir the contents well and check the shade before application to ensure consistent results.

Always follow the specific instructions provided by Fiddes and conduct a test on a similar substrate to verify the desired color and shade before applying the stain to your project.
