One of the standout features of Bona Traffic HD is its unparalleled speed and durability. It provides a tough protective layer that can withstand heavy foot traffic, ensuring the longevity and resilience of the wood floor. This makes it a preferred option for commercial settings such as hotels, restaurants, and airports, where minimal downtime is crucial.

With Bona Traffic HD, you can resume full traffic on the floor just 12 hours after application. This quick drying time allows for efficient project completion and minimizes disruption to daily activities. It is particularly advantageous for large surface areas where timely completion is essential.

The lacquer offers excellent flow and leveling properties, resulting in a smooth and even finish on the wood floor. This helps to enhance the overall appearance of the floor, providing a professional and aesthetically pleasing result.

In addition, Bona Traffic HD is low in odor and has a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) content of less than 5%. This makes it a more environmentally friendly choice compared to traditional solvent-based lacquers. The reduced odor also ensures a more pleasant application experience.

Overall, Bona is a top-quality lacquer that delivers unmatched speed, durability, and performance for wood floors exposed to high traffic and extreme wear. Its fast drying time, excellent flow, and low odor make it a preferred option for professionals seeking superior results in a timely manner.

The overcoating process for lacquered wooden floors involves deep cleaning, superficial abrasion, and the application of new lacquer. It is a cost-efficient way to extend the lifetime of the floor and rejuvenate its appearance. Please note that this overview is not a replacement for the detailed information provided in the technical data sheets for each specific product. Make sure to refer to the related technical and safety data sheets before use.

There are two sections in this instruction, depending on the type of surface and its condition: A. Newly installed, pre-finished flooring B. Lacquered wooden flooring that has been in use

Before starting the overcoating process, it’s important to ensure that the floor is in sound condition without deep damages, large gaps, cupping, or loose tiles. If there are significant issues, it may be necessary to make local repairs or consider a full resand and renovation.

Recommended equipment for the process includes Bona FlexiSand equipped with Quattro- or Multidisc, intermediate pads, Bona Diamond Abrasives grit 80 & 240, Bona PowerScrubber with red brushes, Bona Deep Clean Solution, eccentric sander(s) for corners and edges, and clean microfiber pads.

A. Newly installed, pre-finished flooring:

  1. Ensure the surface is clean. If needed, use Bona PowerScrubber with diluted Bona Deep Clean Solution (10%) to clean the surface. Avoid leaving puddles of the cleaning solution.
  2. Allow the surface to dry.
  3. Abrade the surface using Bona Diamond Abrasives grit 240. Attach the diamond discs to a multi- or quattrodisc with intermediate pads in between. Use an eccentric sander for corners and edges.
  4. Choose one of the following methods to remove fine dust: a. Clean the surface with Bona PowerScrubber using only clean water in the tank. Let the surface dry. b. Vacuum to remove loose sanding dust or wipe with Bona’s Dusting Pad.
  5. Apply one thin layer of Traffic HD/Traffic lacquer using a stainless steel trowel. Allow it to dry for approximately 30-60 minutes.
  6. Apply 1-2 layers of Traffic HD/Traffic lacquer with a roller or T-bar, covering an area of 8-10 m2 per liter.

Please refer to the technical data sheets for specific instructions on drying times, application methods, and any additional steps required.
