Osmo Maintenance Oil is a clear and transparent wood finish designed for the initial and routine care of oiled or waxed wooden floors. It offers a fast-drying formula that helps refresh dull and matt flooring, eliminating the need for time-consuming sanding and renovation.

By using Osmo Maintenance Oil, you can effectively care for and protect your oiled or waxed wooden floors. Its clear and transparent finish enhances the natural beauty of the wood while providing long-lasting durability and resistance to stains.

  • Refreshes Dull and Matt Flooring: The Maintenance Oil is specifically formulated to revive and rejuvenate wooden floors that have lost their luster. By applying the Maintenance Oil at the right time, you can avoid the need for extensive sanding and renovation.
  • Suitable for Gloss Level Adjustment: The Maintenance Oil is also suitable for changing the gloss level of intact surfaces treated with Osmo Polyx®-Oil. This allows you to customize the appearance of your wood surfaces.
  • Microporous and Durable Finish: Osmo Maintenance Oil creates a microporous surface on wood, ensuring that it remains resistant to cracking, peeling, flaking, or blistering. It provides long-lasting protection for your floors.
  • Resistant to Stains and Liquids: The dry finish of Osmo Maintenance Oil is resistant to various substances, including wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk, and water. It meets the requirements of the German DIN 68861-1A standard, ensuring that it does not leave water spots or stains on the wood surface.
  • Safe for Humans, Animals, and Plants: Osmo Maintenance Oil is tested and certified to be safe for humans, animals, and plants. It is resistant to saliva and perspiration according to the German DIN 53160 standard and suitable for children’s toys according to the EN 71.3 standard.

Surface Preparation:

  1. Ensure that the wood surface is clean, dry (moisture content max. 18%), and free of dust.
  2. Osmo Maintenance Oil is ready to use and should not be thinned.
  3. Before use, stir the Maintenance Oil well to ensure proper consistency.
  4. Thoroughly clean the surface with Osmo Intensive Cleaner and rinse with clear water using a damp mop.
  5. Keep in mind that the finished surface appearance can be affected by various factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, it is recommended to perform a trial application, especially on unfamiliar surfaces.

Method of Application:

  1. Use either the Osmo Double Blade Scraper or Osmo Microfibre Roller to apply the Maintenance Oil.
  2. Apply the oil thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood, following the direction of the wood grain.
  3. Rub the Maintenance Oil into the wood using a white pad (except for product 3098, do not rub it in). This step helps ensure proper penetration and absorption.
  4. Remove any excess product to avoid over-application.
  5. For smaller areas, you can apply the Maintenance Oil with a lint-free cloth.
  6. Provide good ventilation during the drying process.
