Transform Your Outdoor Wood with Country Colour. Discover the magic of our wood finish that starts with a gentle satin-gloss and gracefully transitions to a smooth satin texture. Crafted from natural oils, this solution is your wood’s best friend in outdoor settings.
When you apply our finish, you’re giving your wood a protective coat that hides the original tone and grain while allowing its unique structure to shine through. It’s like adding a touch of mystery while preserving the wood’s essence.
But there’s more to it – the finish isn’t just a pretty face. Thanks to its microporous surface, your wood can breathe, and the annoying problems of swelling and shrinkage are kept at bay. Rain or shine, this finish is a staunch water-repellent shield, designed to laugh in the face of the harshest weather and unyielding UV rays. And it’s tough as nails – no cracking, peeling, flaking, or blistering to be found here.
Now, here’s the kicker: when it’s time for a touch-up, no need to dread the sandpaper. A fresh coat is as easy as pie – no primer required. Smooth application, almost like the finish and wood are dancing together, creating a seamless bond. The finish remains cooperative as you apply it, making the process a breeze.
Elevate your wood care game with our finish. Let your outdoor wood thrive while enjoying a finish that’s protective, charming, and user-friendly – all rolled into one.
Preparing the Surface
For the best results, ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from frost (with a maximum moisture content of 20%). Osmo Country Colour comes ready to use – no need to thin it. Before applying, give it a good stir. If possible, it’s a great idea to apply the first coat to all sides before installation.
Make sure to thoroughly clean old microporous stains. Complete removal of old paints and lacquers is necessary. And remember, wearing a dust mask during sanding is a good practice.
The final look of the surface is influenced by various factors, including the wood’s condition. So, it’s always wise to do a trial application, especially on surfaces you’re not familiar with.
If added protection against blue stains, rot, and insects is what you’re after, consider pre-treating the wood on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat.
Applying the Finish
You have options for application: use an Osmo Flat Brush or an Osmo Microfibre Roller. Apply the finish thinly and evenly to the clean, dry wood, following the grain of the wood and spreading it well.
Allow the first coat to dry for about 10-12 hours in a well-ventilated space.
After it’s dried, apply a second coat – again, a thin layer is best.
For renovation projects, one coat on a clean, dry surface usually does the job.
Remember, the key is even application and patience. Your wood will thank you for the care!
